Wedding Wednesday: Big Exit
One of the best things I’ve learned from doing wedding photography with Rob is the importance of a big exit at a wedding. Don’t just let your evening wind down…leave with a bang. It’s fantastic for photos and gives your reception a strong conclusion.
Sparklers are amazing for this but most venues don’t allow them. We’ve also shot good exits with bubbles. Ribbon wands could work. I think we’re going to do birdseed. Whatever you choose: be sure to high tail it out of there in high style!

We gave our guests freeze-dried rose petals to toss as we left the church. The smell was amazing!
It’s not a great shot, but it’s all I could find on my computer:

Sparklers = magic! Though I would imagine that no place in CA is keen on fire being waved around! Birdseed will be great as well!
My husband and I chose to use birdseed – although it took the church board a few weeks to decide on whether or not to LET us – in little glassine bags from Paper Source, sealed with red wax. The guests just LOVED it!
instead of having our guests throw anything, we made a grand exit out of the church and while the bagpiper played and all our guests cheered us, we climbed in the back of my dad’s white convertible, kissed, and i threw my tossing bouquet. then we drove off to our reception site with our best man and maid of honor. it was lovely!
