To Do: Polaroids
So, the next 11 days are basically going to be Wedding Wednesday all the time if that’s okay with you…there are just so many little details to wrap up. It’s hard to think about anything but the wedding and honeymoon right now.
Yesterday, we decided to switch for a digital camera to a Polaroid for our DIY photo station. B&H seems to have the best price on the film.
I’m happy about the decision, it fits well with our whole “authentic” theme at the wedding. Pretty much everything we’re doing is handmade or old-fashioned in some way; from the letterpressed invitations to the antique dress to the vintage postcards. Pretty strange for a girl who loves the internet and technology so much!

I’ll look forward to a week of wedding posts! Polaroids are a great idea. If you have a Costco membership, they usually have the cheapest film I’ve found. About $1 per polaroid, although I’m not sure if it’s gone up since I’ve bought it.
Nice! I organized the polaroid photo book for the wedding I was in in July, and it worked great. I bought an album from Papersource that has loose pages that bind together, so people could work on pages at the same time. I got archival double-stick tape and markers in colors that went well w/ the wedding, and people did all kinds of great stuff. There was someone who was assigned to taking a lot of the photos and helping round people up–there is a bit of user error possible w/ the camera so that worked well.
My parents’ page was the coolest, I think. My artsy dad drew the barn where the wedding was being held as a frame around their photo!
Have you postet photos of you weddingdress? If not… Can you please…. I love the posts about your wedding…
whatever you do is okay with us ‘sista 🙂 I love love your blog!!
We did this and it turned out SOOOOO well.
My only advice is to assign someone to take pictures of people who won’t do it for themselves. One of the catering staff offered to do this for us the day of and I will forever be grateful becuase not everyone was willing to get in on the fun on their own.
LOVE the polaroid idea. I love all things vintage and antique. I bet your wedding will be great!
a few years ago my company bought an enormous amount of polaroid film for a project and we ended up with about 2000 extra pieces of film so my boss let me just have it. I threw five or six parties with photo stations that spring/summer and people went nuts every single time. i love me some technology too but it’s hard to overstate the fun of having a real live souvenir of the event.
