Crafty: Embroidered pillowcases
One of my favorite embroidery projects is decorating a set of pillowcases. The border makes a perfect canvas and I figure that everyone can use an extra set. In the past I have made pillowcases to match a friend’s bedspread, a mongramed set with lilies and a way-too-complicated Costa Rican jungle monagramed set for Jean. I dropped by Ross today and picked up two sets of pillowcases (green and coral) from Ralph Lauren. Now I just have to decide on a pattern.
There are a couple of great pattern sources online. Needlecrafter.com has a library of free vintage patterns and SublimeStitching.com offers retro-fabulous iron-on designs. I also browse antique linen sales for ideas. But I feel like doing something a little more modern this time…a little more Lotta, perhaps. Any suggestions?
