This was an uplifting and fun way to spend MLK…
Urban Girl Almanac: Crush
This week has been short and busy. All sorts of plans have been tossed out and I’m taking it one day at a time. A nice long weekend with not much to do sounds just right. Here’s what I learned this week:
- Designer dress shopping stresses me out.
- Wedding invitations are on their way. There are so many little pieces to keep in mind.
- Wall-E is cute.
- I wish I could get a CSA, but I’m never at home.
- Bridal pants…more support on this from the readers than I would have expected.
- Do I need a champagne saber…yes, very much so.
- I could really go for a hot dog right now
- According to the make-up artists I worked with last night I “have the palest skin” she’s ever seen…um, thanks?
- You can put virtually anything into an ice cream machine.
- Rocket Man is our latest uke/bass song.
- What to wear to your bridal shower? I’m packing satin, cashmere and pearls.
- This week’s Etsy art us from Connie.
I just picked up my sister from the airport and we’ll be heading down to San Luis Obispo in a few. I hope to spend the weekend reading, barbecuing, sending shower invitations, going to the beach and relaxing. I have my first shower on Monday, expect a full report. Have a great 4th of July!

Happy 4th and thanks for the Thank You postcard:)
Have fun! Can’t wait to hear about the bridal shower. You have a lovely complexion. 🙂
Just wanted to let you know that I’ve been reading and I will be featuring a link to your blog on Sunday!
Might have to attend one or two marriages in the next week. Going to do shopping for some dresses for that.
Hey Emily, by CSA you mean Community Supported Agriculture, right?
The one I belong to delivers to my doorstep (they’ll also deliver to you work) and offers a small box option. You can also choose how often it comes.
Let me know if you want more details 🙂
left you something on my blog
Ha! I feel you on the “palest skin ever”. I get it all the time. Just think, less wrinkles in the long run! Good luck with all your planning!
