Eight months pregnant?! How is that possible! Things have started…
7 Winter Outfits to Wear When You’re 3 Months Pregnant
I’m having such fun dressing this ever-growing bump. For the first time in my life, I have actual curves to contend with! Here’s a sample week of about-town outfits as I wrapped up my 13th week of pregnancy – a week that involved a whole lot of parties, a couple rainstorms and daily naps.
Many of these ensembles revolve around a few sized-up pieces I purchased over Christmas. The local Forever 21 was having a 50% off sale while going out of business.
1. A bosslady brunch with three professional women
Emerald green sweater midi dress from Forever 21 ($15), sienna brown cardigan from J. Crew ($50), Old Navy scarf, belt, nude fishnet tights, Nine West black patent pumps ($60).
2. Walking to Farmer’s Market and back
Basic black leggings from Bloomingdale’s, Forever 21 fisherman’s sweater, Old Navy tee and scarf, Zara hooded wool coat, New Balance sneakers.
3. Casino night client party
I bought this too-large DVF dress on massive sale last year and it now fits perfectly. Black maternity tights, Nine West patent pumps and a yellow clutch.
4. After-work networking mixer
This $20 striped sweater dress from Forever 21 has become my go-to. Unbelted, it hides the bump quite well. Black maternity tights, hooded wool coat, flat riding boots, ivory envelope clutch. Adele-inspired smokey eyeliner.
5. Russian-themed dinner party
Metallic knit sweater from Forever 21, dark red trousers from Bloomingdale’s with a belly band, black patent pumps.
6. Volunteer trail work day on Twin Peaks
Men’s flannel shirt from Target ($22), Barbour quilted vest – this piece was so helpful in hiding my early bump – black leggings, Sperry black rubber boots.
7. Sunday errands at Sports Basement
Overnight, I outgrew all my regular jeans and had to move to this maternity pair for a trip to buy Rob clothes for his trip to London. Old Navy v-neck tee, ballet-style wrap sweater ($35), slip-on black oxfords, Old Navy scarf, navy trench coat.

GOOD GRIEF! YOU’RE HAVING A BABY!!!!!
How did I miss this?!?!?!?!? EXCITING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just announced it last week! All very exciting and fun 🙂
Your face is already glowing! Seriously, you look fantastic!
Thanks Annie! There’s a good amount of pregnancy acne under the make-up 🙂
You look great!
You look beautiful! As Annie said- you really are glowing! 🙂
Thank you for sharing your outfit photos. I will certainly be passing these ideas onto a friend. Again, thank you for sharing this wonderful time of your life!
Congratulations – you look awesome!
I’m in my 3rd trimester and I love love love Gap Maternity tank tops. I only discovered them in the last few weeks and I wish I had them the whole time. They are so comfy and soft (and as flattering as maternity wear can be I guess). Earlier in the pregnancy I lived in Forever21 bodycon “dresses” in a size up as a longer tank top.
Also – have you tried the rubber-band / hair-tie trick on the jeans? Loop a hair-tie through the button hole to extend. As long as you’re wearing the belly-band or a longer tank, it works pretty well and you can get a few extra weeks out of pants that are snug in the waist.
I think my bump is “above average” because I’ve long outgrown the rubber-band trick. A belly band works with some of my pants but I’m mainly already in maternity clothes at only 14 weeks (eek!)
Just had lunch with your mom where she shared the wonderful news about your pregnancy The pool ladies couldn’t be more thrilled for you two.
Thank you Maureen! Glad to have the best wishes of the pool ladies!
Oh wow! I had a baby girl this fall and haven’t really followed my usual blogs since. Congrats on the big news! That’s wonderful. I’m going to have fun watching your stylish bump grow. And yes, it is a very comfortable moment when you decide to abandon squeezing into your old jeans and embrace some maternity jeans. I think I held out far too long.
